Laurens Slats, LoRaWAN Implementation Engineer, The Things Industries
During the years, Laurens has seen hundreds of LoRaWAN projects succeed, and ever more projects fail. During this talk, he will shed a light on the many failures he experienced and share with you the lessons he learned to prepare you for becoming successful in LoRaWAN.
Laurens is the Implementation Engineer at The Things Industries and Community Manager of the The Things Network; a collaborative ecosystem of 150 000 IoT developers which together run a global LoRaWAN network that enables thousands of IoT use cases.
Carlo Tinella, LoRa Product Marketing Manager, Semtech
The increasing demand for energy efficient and simple to deploy IoT solutions is nowadays a consolidated global trend, experienced across many industries and use cases, accelerated by the urgency to improve efficiency, sustainability and safety of general human being activities. However, massive adoption of such solutions has been hindered by the high power consumption and associated complexity of mostly current solutions. This presentation will show how Semtech is addressing such limitations through a continuous improvement of its LoRa® portfolio via low power, full edge-to-Cloud solutions and expanding simple long range and robust wireless connectivity into the 2.4GHz ISM band.
Carlo Tinella is marketing product manager of LoRa®for Europe in Semtech's Wireless and Sensing Products Group. After more than two decades of successful experience in advanced R&D and developing ICs for radiofrequency systems, Carlo joined Semtech in 2019 shifting his interest toward solving more market driven challenges and fascinated by the potential of LoRa® technology to contribute for a safer, more sustainable and better world.
Carlo holds a PhD in Microelectronics from Grenoble INP - France.
Christian Ulrik, VP Sales & Business Development EMEA, TEKTELIC Communications Inc.
Vincent Blanchard, Sales Representative Nordics, KERLINK
Helium Systems is an American company founded in 2013 to build the world's first peer-to-peer LoRaWAN wireless IoT network, "The People's Network". This is also the first global, distributed network of Hotspots that provides public, long-range and low-power wireless coverage for LoRaWAN-enabled IoT sensors and devices. Helium claims to have over 25,000 helium hotspots sold in 3,600+ cities to date.
Anders Mynster, Head of department IoT technology, architecture and data, FORCE technology
IoT consists of many technical and business challenges and opportunities. It is easy to come up with an idea, but how do you build the solution? Based on an ecosystems approach the Nordic IoT center, facilitated by FORCE technology and the Alexandra institute, finds the right development, deployment or operational partners, to complement the resources found within your company. See who the partners are, and how we find the right solutions for those with great ideas.
Richard Lansdowne, Senior Director, Business Development, Semtech Corporation
Richard Lansdowne will give an overview of Semtech’s silicon to cloud concept and the fully integrated LR1110 modem and geolocation chip. He will introduce the features and functions of the modem, the accompanying cloud services and dive into how this ground-breaking device and service combination can bring incredible power-saving opportunities of up to 95% using geolocation offloading. He will also take a look at the tradeoffs off offloading and look at why even static devices benefit from geolocation.
Rich Lansdowne is a Senior Director for Business Development within Semtech’s wireless LoRa business unit and holds a masters in information engineering from Southampton University, UK.
A 30-year industry veteran with extensive experience in wireless, carrier networking, mixed-signal system-on-chip design as well as low-power IoT and cloud services. He has spent the past 25 years with Semtech and since 2015, has been 100% focused on LoRa and LoRaWAN. Rich has also spent time building up Semtech’s LoRa Cloud Services in support of their ‘silicon to cloud’ concept.
Olivier Hersent, CEO, ACTILITY
In this session we will update on the impressive growth of public and private LPWAN networks. We will also discuss the new trends towards collaboration and peering of networks to extend coverage and improve quality of service, but also facilitate activation of devices. Indoor/outdoor geolocation is one of the killer apps of LPWANs and drives large volumes of devices. The new multicast firmware update technology, now fully industrialized, is one of the key technologies that will greatly facilitate maintenance of such large scale use cases.
Morten Byrgiel Madsen, Teknisk Direktør & medejer, DS Energy og Vagn Olsen, Nordic Account Manager, Texim Europe
"The Things Conference on Tour" udspringer fra Amsterdam, men er internationalt kendt for arrangementer i byer over store dele af verden, og på EOT i september kunne du i år opleve eventen i Skandinavien for første gang. Her gav førende eksperter et dybdegående indblik i LoRaWAN-teknologiens potentialer gennem både udstilling, taler og workshops.
